How Is the Date Difference Calculated?
The calculator compares the selected start date with the selected end date. It first counts the number of complete calendar years and then calculates the remaining complete months and days.
For example, a result of 3 years, 2 months and 10 days means that three complete years and two complete calendar months have passed, followed by an additional ten days.
The Total Days result represents the complete number of calendar days between the two dates. Complete Weeks are calculated by dividing the total number of days into completed seven-day periods.
Total Hours are calculated by multiplying the total calendar days by 24. Because the calculator works with calendar dates, daylight-saving time changes do not affect the result.
The calculator automatically adjusts for months with different numbers of days and also accounts for leap years.

The standard result measures the elapsed time from the start date to the end date. The start date is not counted as a completed day.
Does the calculator account for leap years?
No. The calculation takes place inside your browser, and the entered dates are not submitted or stored by this calculator.
