How to Use the Working Days Calculator

How Are Working Days Calculated?
Working days are the dates within the selected range that are not classified as weekend days or optional holidays.
The calculator checks every calendar date in the selected range. Dates matching your chosen weekend schedule are excluded from the working-day total.
You can choose to include both boundary dates, exclude the start date, exclude the end date or exclude both dates.
Optional holidays are excluded only when they fall on a normal working day. A holiday that already falls on a weekend is counted as a weekend day and is not deducted twice.
The calculator uses calendar dates instead of clock time, so daylight-saving time changes do not affect the result. Leap years and different month lengths are handled automatically.

What is a working day?

Does the calculator include the start and end dates?
You can choose whether to include both dates, exclude the start date, exclude the end date or exclude both dates by using the Counting Method option.
Can I change the weekend days?
Yes. You can select Saturday and Sunday, Friday and Saturday, Sunday only or Saturday only as the weekend schedule.
How do I exclude public holidays?
Enter each holiday in the Optional Holidays field using the YYYY-MM-DD format. You can separate multiple holiday dates with a new line or comma.
What happens when a holiday falls on a weekend?
A holiday that falls on a selected weekend day is counted only as a weekend day. It is not excluded twice from the working-day result.
Can I calculate working days for different countries?
Yes. Select the appropriate weekend schedule and manually enter the public holidays observed in the relevant country or region.
Why is the result different from my office calendar?
Your office calendar may include company holidays, regional closures, special working Saturdays or other internal policies. Add the relevant holidays and select the correct weekend schedule for a closer result.
